Following the full release for Android last year, Google today unveiled new enhancements to its next operating system, Android 13, at Google I / O 2022, its event release .
Some of the key features of the future of Android are: different color settings, new application icons, more secure location, the ability to send encrypted messages to groups and digital wallets new called Google. Walletwhich will replace Google Pay (fast payment service).
What’s more, Google finally seems to have solved the problem of the year: as devices with its functionalities inconsistent, they can “talk” better to one another – something on Android lagged behind Apple’s iOS. With version 13, it is possible, for example, to copy content from a cell phone with the platform and easily put it on a tablet.

When will Android 13 arrive?
Google started releasing Android 13 to developers this Wednesday (11), and the update is expected to arrive slowly.
First on the new phone and then on to the other devices.
1. Privacy and privacy of Android 13
Announced last year, Your Products interface (Google language design) will get some new features. In Android 12, the key is that, when selecting the background image, the system will bring the main color of the image and play in the menu.
With Android 13, it will be able to customize the menu color and font content. There will also be different icon options that change to the system.
Consider people who use the operating system and speak several languages, it would allow, for example, that one social network app works in one language, while the banking app in another language.
2. Apps may request permission to access photos
In terms of security, the new thing will be what the company calls the English Photo Picker. This means that Android will allow apps to access users’ selected photos and videos instead of giving them access to the entire file library.
Google will still have a secure and private page. There, people will be able to check for problems (such as one of the passwords being stored leaked).
3. Google Wallet
If you purchase an Android phone, it works via Google Pay. In the next update, Google will change the feature name like Google Wallet.
As the English name suggests, it is a virtual wallet. In it, people will be able to register cards and pay via cell phone through the way with NFC technology. In some countries, you may be able to use your cell phone to pay for public transportation.
The wallet, by the way, will already be integrated with Google Maps. When looking for a way to use public transportation, the payment option from Google Wallet and even the credit amount of the virtual transport card will appear in the app’s interface.
Google Wallet will also support other items such as ID cards, driver’s licenses, immunization cards and hotel keys. The operation of this product in Brazil depends on the integration of services with the technology company.
4. Encrypted group chat
Since 2017, Google has been trying to introduce RCS (Rich Communications Services), an alternative SMS method developed by the company and supported by some employees.
The system works through the Google Messages app and, like WhatsApp, already has end-to-end encryption (a process that scrambles data as an extra layer of security). Through it, he is able to send pictures and messages online, in addition to viewing live chats such as “fucking is typing”.
At Google I / O today, the company said it will soon start offering group discussions.
Google Messages is still far from the potential of WhatsApp. However, with such updates, the platform has become an alternative to online chat, with the advantages of being native to many Android phones.
5. Better integration of equipment
Although the root system is in watches, cars, tablets and smartphones, the integration of all devices has never been “round”. Google wants to replace that with its new standard. In Android 13, there is the promise of more fluid sharing between different devices with the platform.
Copying an item from one tool and pasting it to another will be one of the most important functions of the system. Another special feature is voice changer: with just a few taps it is possible to transfer audio from a Bluetooth headset connected to a tablet to a phone, for example.
An additional in-car multimedia systems running Android 13 should make it easy to transfer data to the car’s screen. New multimedia sites will be supported Chromecast. This will make it easier to stream, for example, streaming videos from your cell phone on YouTube to your car screen.
6. Devices from other brands with Bluetooth integration
Fast connectivity with Bluetooth devices is the “benefit” that only Google devices (such as the Pixel Buds headphones) have. In the next version of Android, gadgets from brands such as TCL, Realme, JBL, Sony, MontBlanc, Philips and Fitbit will be easily integrated with any phone or tablet, according to the company.
7. Connecting houses
Setting up home appliances should be easy. Android 13 will support Matter, a device adopted by many devices in this market, such as hinges and smart sockets (sockets that can be opened via an internet connection).
Brands like Philips Hue, eve and Yale will soon be recognized for setting up cell phones with Google’s latest technology, Google says.
